Back in the days of sabertooth tigers, dire wolves and the majestic giant sloth there lived the noble mammoths. Out of all of the mammoths, there was none so funky as the one known only as Boogie Mammoth. Boogie Mammoth's groove was so ahead of its time, in fact, that when extraterrestrials visited earth 10,000 years ago, they bestowed upon him one of the highest honored gifts: the ability to traverse through time and space. He now spends his days as a musical ambassador, bringing a dance party along with him wherever he goes.
Boogie Mammoth currently calls Denver, Colorado home. His band of musical neanderthals consists of Miss Rachel Rand on the Microphone, Mertz on Guitar, Ryan Pontillas on Keys, Dan Orso on Bass, Benedikt Hammer on Drums; and common sit-ins by the Woolly Horns. By stirring together a cool concoction of funk, disco and soul covers and originals, the dance floor just can't quit when Boogie Mammoth's in the building.
Starting in spring 2016, Boogie Mammoth has had the pleasure of sharing the bill with groove doctors from acts such as: The Motet, Snarky Puppy, Trey Anastasio Band, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Moon Taxi, Big Gigantic, Analog Son, Emancipator, Con Brio, Nth Power, Thievery Corporation, Brothers Past, Mingo Fishtrap and more. With plans to record a EP and tour in 2017, there are no plans of letting up! Get your groove shoes ready, it's time to boogie baby!
